Apartment in Ioannina

Interior design

Location : Ioannina

Area : 90 m2

Year : 201

Photos by : Lefteris Kossaras

CASA IRENE project is a redesign of an apartment on the first floor of an old building in the center of Ioannina city, in order to serve the needs of a modern couple. Architectural design focused on creating a modern, functional and spacious environment that would 'satisfy' the requirements of the new owners.

By separating the functions of the house, two zones are created, one open space which include the living room, the dining room and the kitchen , and one with the bedrooms and the bathroom. All the windows and doors are redesigned, so that more natural light illuminates the space.

Εmphasis is placed to the materials with a predominantly industrial style and elements such as the red brick roofing, which is harmoniously combined with the use of more natural materials such as wood on the floor, giving a warmer and more intimate tone in the apartment.

The design is highlighted and complemented by the new lighting design. Ceiling lights with gold details become dominant elements of space while giving it a high aesthetic and elegance.

Corresponding manipulations are followed in the rest of the apartment, with the use of pressed cement and wood extending to the bedrooms.

The main bedroom features a 'walk-in closet' and 'boudoir' space to better meet the needs of tenants, dominated by simple lines through modern textures, enhancing the value of simplicity in the use of forms and materials.
